A Message for Tampines GRC Singaporeans
Dear fellow Singaporeans,
We are now at a critical crossroad that will determine your future, and the path of our nation’s political, economic and social development.
We have all witnessed how the ruling party exploits its dominance in bull-dozing its “Growth at ALL Cost” economic model with the large import of foreign labour at all levels. At the same time, it has also promoted the vice industry with the establishment of two Casino-Resorts.
As a result, a great number of social and livelihood problems were created to the detriment of Singaporeans at large.
1) Wages were suppressed, and jobs displaced;
2) Runaway public housing prices will force our people to sell their flats to cover retirement needs;
3) Public transport infrastructure has come under tremendous pressure, with commuters squeezed in packed MRT trains and buses becoming a common scene;
4) Public healthcare suffers from severe shortages of hospital beds and facilities amidst rising medical bills.
Meanwhile, the blind pursuit of GDP growth has benefited mainly Government Ministers and top civil servants, who are rewarded with as much as EIGHT MONTHS’ bonuses. While the ruling party promised to raise the real income of ALL Singaporeans by 30% within the next 10 years, Ministers have already enjoyed pay increments of 20% - 30% this year alone!
It is therefore imperative for Singapore to have more Opposition representatives in Parliament, so as to exert more pressure and check on the excesses and unpopular policies of the ruling party.
